Hello and happy and healthy new year!

First, I'd like to inform everyone that this installation was done mainly for fun - it is not approved by Apple. Apple doesn't want users installing their operating system on a PC other than Mac... I know, right? But its OK for Apple to allow MS Windows to be installed on their hardware...

That is why PSYSTAR introduced RebelEFI. A software based EFI emulator that enables any PC to install OSX onto. They claim that according to the Digital Rights Law, an end user has the right to install their purchased OS disk on any hardware.

So, if you want to do it the legal way, visit www.psystar.com, download RebelEFI iso and follow to wiki. There's still some tweaks that are involved after installing the OS to enable drivers support.

This guide is based on the information provided by Project OSx86. Lets begin:

Based on my experience, I found an extremely easy and quick way to install OSx86 10.5.8 on the Samsung NC10 netbook, without extra programming and tweaks.

The only hardware modification is to swap the NC10's wireless adapter with the Apple's Airport Extreme miniPCI adapter (You can find the Airport Extreme N adapter for around $20 on eBay).

Another alternative is the BCM4321 broadcom 4321 802.11n wifi Mini PCI-E Card which can be found online for as low as $20.

This guide is for a single bootable installation of OS X. If you are looking for a dual boot configuration you'll find several steps on How-To's on Google and YouTube.

Step 1: Make sure you have the following software downloaded: msiwindosx86.iso, MSI OSX Upgrade Pack v1.5, Paul's Wind utility pack, and finally the SleepEnabler.kext.

Also download MacOSXUpdCombo10.5.8.dmg from the Apple support site - you will need this later.

Step 2: Modify your system BIOS:

In the "Advanced Settings" tab make sure to set the following:

Hyperthreading: [Enabled]

Processor Power Management: [Enabled]

Legacy USB Support: [Enabled]

Large Disk Access Mode: [DOS]

EDB (Execute Disable Bit) [Enabled]

Internal LAN [Enabled]

Touch Pad Mouse [Enabled]

CPU Power Saving Mode [Enabled]

Fan Silent Mode (Makes no difference)

Step 3: Load up the msiwindosx86.iso and wait for the Mac OSX Installation Welcome screen. Select English (or your desired language) and proceed to the next step.

Step 4: Configuring your Hard Drive partition.

Click on Utilities (in the upper bar), and select "Disk Utility". When the "Disk Utility" window shows up, you'll see your hard drive on the left hand side. elect your drive and on the right side of the screen select the "Partition" tab. Under "Volume Scheme", change "current" to "1 Partition". Click on "Options", and set it to MBR (Master Boot Record), and apply the settings.

Now back in the "Partition" tab, under "Volume Information", name the drive to whatever you choose, and the format to MS DOS Disk, and apply the settings. Next go to the "Erase" tab and change the format to "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)", and click on "Erase" to apply the settings.

Verify the disk in the "First Aid" tab just to make sure the drive is OK for installation. (This hardy happens, but if the disk verification fails for any reasons, re-apply the settings).

Now, quit Disk Utility and proceed to the next step.

Step 5: OS X Installation.

This is a straight forward installation. This DVD will install OSx86 10.5.4.

No need to change or modify anything in this setup. Let it install while you grab yourself a mocha Joe or a snack...

Step 6: Upgrading to OS X 10.5.8.

OK, so you now restarted your new "Macbook Mini" but you want to have the latest OS installed. Here is a quick way to do it:

First, copy all the files I mentioned above to a folder on your desktop (I names mine "Hackintosh").

Unzip "MSI OSX86 Upgrade Pack v1.5.zip, and Paul's Wind utility pack.zip onto the folder.

Before installing the 10.5.8 combo update, go to System/Library/Extensions and remove "RealtekR1000.kext" file.

Now, run the "MacOSXUpdCombo10.5.8.dmg" file to upgrade your OS but upon completion - DO NOT RESTART!

When the 10.5.8 update is complete it will prompt you to restart - DO NOT RESTART! Go into your folder and run the "MSi10.5.7UpgradeDriverPack_v1.5" file. (Although this program was intended for 10.5.7, it will work with the 10.5.8 as well). Select ALL (Even when it says "skip").

When the MSI Upgrade pack installation is complete it will prompt you to restart - YOU CAN NOW SAFELY RESTART - click Restart.

Step 7: Finalizing the install.

Your system will restart normally but you will still need to modify 2 things:

1) About This Mac.

2) The sleep feature.

Open your folder where you copied all the files to, and open the Paul's Wind utility pack folder. Go to the utilities folder and run the "AboutThisMac.pkg".

It will not ask you to restart, but you will now see your system's information under the Apple menu.

Next copy the "SleepEnabler.kext" file into System/Library/Extensions and restart the computer. That's it! You are done.

It is recommended to run the MSI Upgrade pack whenever there is a security update for 10.5.8. Just run the install after installing the update before restarting the OS. Just to be safe.

If for some reasons the audio is not working download and run this file (Full_Sound_10.5.7.pkg.zip).

Regarding Snow Leopard running on the Samsung NC10. I highly advise against it, simply because Apple has released this update to stop OSx86 installation on Netbooks. Upgrading to 10.6 and above will disable the video drivers, bluetooth and audio - It's not worth it.

10.5.8 features everything you need in your netbook, and more. You will see you have full audio support including the audio jacks, full video support, LAN, and webcam.
